About Us

Laura Bunker
I guess you could say we are an inter-state family. I was born and raised in northern California, my husband Steve is from Ohio, and our two adopted daughters came from Kansas and Las Vegas. Our family lived in Las Vegas, NV, and Laie, HI, then moved to Utah the day before a big snowstorm in 1995. (As my girls played in the snow with their beach toys, they said, “Mom it’s just like sand--only colder!”)
In 2010 I returned to school and graduated in August 2013 with a Bachelors Degree in Family Science from Brigham Young University.  Because the family has become political, I am grateful to be able to have a voice in defending life, family, and children.  My favorite part about this work is working with our amazing Interns!

Rose Marie Murray
My husband, John Murray, and I have three young adult age children and I had the opportunity to choose to be a Stay-at-Home mom while my children were at home.  By profession I am a Registered Dietitian with a Master's Degree in International Nutrition. I participated in missionary service in Central America. Being involved with my children's education (part public, part home-school) introduced me to the world of family values political activism. Working with the BYU-I Interns is refreshing and exciting. Their enthusiasm and passion to preserve and promote family values is palpable. Our future is in terrific hands!

Miriam Merrill

Hi there! I am a student studying Family Advocacy and Policy and will be graduating in April. I anxiously await the day when I will be able to hopefully influence policy professionally, but I believe wholeheartedly in advocating daily in both big and small ways. I'm incredibly passionate about preserving and protecting the family unit. I believe that essentially every issue in society can be traced back to the disintegration of the family and as such, strengthening the family will fix many major societal issues. I feel honored to be so heavily involved with that now. Besides that, I love the arts, especially singing and theatre. I'm an instructor at the Utah Children's Theatre and I teach vocal lessons privately. I'm an avid history buff and love studying about the foundations of our country as well as mid-century pop culture, politics, and design aesthetic. I've been married for just under two years to my best friend Sam. Together, we love performing, playing with animals, and watching black and white movies. While I have many goals relating to professional pursuits, my ultimate dream is to create and maintain a happy home as a wife and mother.

Kadee Taylor

I’m Kadee Taylor and I was born and raised in Utah and I call St. George home. I am the oldest of
four children, consisting of two boys and two girls.  I am 24 years old and I studied at BYU-Idaho in Marriage & Family Studies with Professional Clinical and Child Development emphases. I have a passion for helping to sustain the family as the fundamental unit of society. I plan to pursue a master’s degree in International Social Change & Policy and promote family and child friendly policy throughout my career. I also have a passion for anti-human trafficking and would love to partner with governments and private agencies in the future to end transnational crime in that area. I love to travel and plan to live in and visit many places around the world. I served as a missionary in the Pennsylvania Philadelphia area for 18 months and my favorite place there was Delaware, it truly is no small wonder.  I lived in Orlando, Florida for a summer as an intern at Walt Disney World and it was nothing short of magical. I also lived abroad for a semester in China teaching English at Zhenjiang First Foreign Language School in the Jiangsu Province. My love for people around he world fuels my desire to help influence policy that promotes the family and protects children.

McKayla Skinner

Hello! I'm McKayla Skinner. I'm a student at BYU-Idaho soon to be graduating this semester with a BA in Marriage and Family Studies. I'm married to my best friend and husband of four years. We have three beautiful children and we are loving the exciting toddler years! Second to my family, one of my greatest joys is seeing a husband and wife hold hands because it reinforces the family unit and brings hope and security to the rising generation. I feel so blessed to be working in an internship that strengthens those same ties, blesses me with the opportunity to be involved in the political process, and learn so much from our team and those we meet.
